Firstly, at the heart of every Veritas (wound) string is a chunky steel round core which makes them the only ‘coated’ round core set on the market. DR’s proprietary ACT (accurate core technology) enhances the strength and stability of the core by perfecting any variations in the wire before DR’s specially formulated coating is applied directly to the core.
The polymer coating has non-slip grooves which compresses under and allows the wrap wire to lock into place. This stops any gunk, oils, or grime even reaching the core. It also means that the ‘natural’ feel of non-coated strings is retained which is fairly unusual in the ‘coated’ strings world. The wrap wire used is a high-quality phosphor bronze which has its own inherent anti-corrosion properties.
This combination produces a powerful set of acoustic strings which last up to 4x longer than a regular set! The strings feel springy, and flexible, with a good bronze tone which complements a particularly bright acoustic.
PS. Xenon power plains are something else! These are designed to match the higher output of the Veritas wound strings and with that create a bigger tone with more sustain which balances the whole set.
